Pastor Mueller Retirement Announcement

Letter to the Congregation

A Message from Pastor Petzold and Pastor Mueller

Brothers and sisters of the Trinity Community,

It is with bittersweet, yet joyful tidings in the Lord that we announce that Pastor Mueller Jr. will be retiring from Trinity Lutheran Church in October 2021.

The process which brought us to this point in time began years ago as Pastor Mueller and the Church Council considered Trinity's needs during our pastoral transition. According to plan, in Fall 2020 Pastor Mueller accepted Trinity's Call as Associate Pastor when Pastor Jonathan Petzold accepted the Call to Trinity as Senior Pastor. After both pastors worked together for a transition period, Pastor Mueller began his sabbatical in January 2021. Pastor Mueller's sabbatical will end with his retirement from Trinity's ministry on October 1, 2021.

Pastor Mueller began his ministry at Trinity in 1985 and has served Trinity faithfully for 36 years. Pastor Jonathan is extremely grateful for Pastor Mueller’s service and leadership at Trinity and looks forward to carrying his legacy into the future. Pastor Chuck remains a beloved member of the Trinity community and supports the ministry and leadership of Pastor Jonathan as Senior Pastor. Trinity is grateful that, while Pastor Mueller Jr. is retiring from Trinity’s staff, his ministry and work for the Kingdom will continue.

To thank the Lord for the many years of service of Pastor Mueller, Jr. and the many lives changed by Jesus through his work at Trinity, we will have a retirement celebration on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021.

At this celebration, we will also formally recognize the ministry of Deaconess Rogene Lis, whose retirement we were not able to appropriately celebrate in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. In the same spirit of reaching our community with the love of Jesus that Pastor Mueller and Deaconess Rogene championed at Trinity, the retirement celebration will be a festival open for all in our community to attend. Put the date on your calendar and look for more information about the celebration in the coming weeks.

Please thank Pastor Mueller, Jr. for his years of service and celebrate what the Spirit is doing among us in a new era at Trinity. If you have any questions regarding this transition, please contact Pastor Jonathan Petzold. See you this Sunday and as we celebrate on October 3rd!

In Christ,

Pastor Jonathan Petzold
